GP Nord at ISR Career Talks

On 17th March 2025, GP Nord’s CEO, Toms Zeltins, participated in a Career Talk session at the International School of Riga (ISR), organised in collaboration with BritCham Latvia. The event provided students with an excellent opportunity to learn about various career paths, including the pharmaceutical industry.

Toms shared his career journey, which started with studying Politics at Riga Stradiņš University, moving to work experience in the UK, and eventually leading GP Nord, a company known for distributing hard-to-find pharmaceuticals in Latvia. Toms explained:

“The best part of my journey has been seeing how diverse experiences can come together in unexpected ways to create new opportunities. I encourage students to stay open to different paths, as you never know where it will take you.”

During the session, Toms also discussed the role of the pharmaceutical industry, emphasizing its importance in ensuring access to essential medicines. He encouraged students to think critically about industries that may not be immediately obvious but can have a significant impact on society.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for students to hear real-world experiences from industry professionals. A huge thank you to ISR for hosting the event and creating an engaging environment for the students. We also appreciate Justine Ignatavicute, Head of Capital Markets at Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns, for sharing her valuable insights.

Toms also praised the students, especially Ruta and Viktorija, for leading the session with confidence and curiosity:

“It was great to see the students asking thoughtful questions and engaging with the topic. I hope my story helped them see how seemingly unrelated experiences can build into something bigger.”

We look forward to future opportunities like this to continue supporting and inspiring the next generation of professionals.
