Expopharm 2026: connecting partners

From 15 to 17 September 2026, GP Nord was in Munich at Expopharm – Europe’s leading trade fair for the pharmacy market. This year’s edition at Messe München brought together around 500 exhibitors and nearly 27,000 visitors under the motto “For the future of our pharmacies.” For us, those three days were about meeting partners face to face, finding new cooperation across Europe, and understanding how the pharmacy supply chain is changing.

GP Nord was represented by Laura Jansone, Head of Procurement, and Aleksandrs Zaicevs, Export Sales Manager. Their work sits at two ends of the same promise: reliable sourcing and reliable delivery. Expopharm is one of the few events where both can happen in the same room.

The programme reflected a clear shift in the German and wider European pharmacy market. The Apothekenversorgung-Weiterentwicklungsgesetz (ApoVWG) was the backdrop. On the stages – pharma-world, inspirationLAB and others – discussion moved from regulation to practice: prevention and vaccination in the pharmacy, point-of-care testing, digital medication plans, AI in daily operations, obesity and diabetes care, biosimilars and medicinal cannabis. Pharmacies are being asked to do more than dispense. That changes what they buy, how they plan stock, and which partners they trust.

Those themes shaped our meetings. Partners wanted earlier visibility on availability, clearer price ranges and supply routes that still work when demand rises. Export talks focused on continuity and on turning a first meeting into samples, technical alignment and a pilot shipment. The shared goal remains access to medicines. In 2026 the difference is speed.
